A hub is a device used to connect all computers in a network star or ring. A center is just a box with a connector of the same serial cable. Hubs are available four five-port devices designed for home networks and small businesses to large rack mounted units up 24 or more ports. Installing a single axis is simply a way to connect to a power source and connect the cables connected to network interface cards on their computers.

This relay has only two connectors BNC. The centers used in Ethernet UTP are repeaters, therefore, but may have multiple RJ45 ports instead of only two BNC connectors.
When data enters the Center, the Center amplifies and transmits the signal through all other ports. This allows a star network with a shared medium. The center relays all packets sent by any computer on the network to all other teams, and also amplifies the signals. The length Maximum a UTP cable segment on an Ethernet network is 100 meters. A segment is defined as the distance between two computers to communicate.
