Coax Cable
Although some years before IBM launched another formal standard video, other video card manufacturers quickly began making cards that can support a higher resolution and color depth than the standard IBM VGA. The different skills are informally called "Super VGA" mode, which eventually came to mean "something better than 640 x 480 in 16 colors." (Eventually, the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) to help stabilize these disparate rules and made a "Super VGA "standard programming interface that includes, among other things, an 800 x 600 is specified in the order of 16 colors.)
IBM Signs next standard are known as "XGA" which offers a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 with 256 colors. It / We can produce 640 x 480 resolution in that the time was an impressive 65,536 colors.
Since then, continual improvements in technology are pushed more and more resolution, with depths increasing color. Along with this improvement comes with a lot of acronyms to define what is shown in the table below. In practice, most acronyms are rarely used, and the term "VGA and Super VGA" (or "SVGA") is used instead.
So why a company cable to worry about different video standards? Well, as expected, the higher the resolution and color depth means more data to go to a cable. Of Indeed, the original VGA cable, used when IBM developed VGA standard is not suitable for modern resolutions. Most of us in the cable industry is careful to distinguish between informal words "VGA cable" and "Cable SVGA", with different physical construction.
A VGA cable is rather traditional simple. It consists of 14 or 15 AWG 28 (28 gauge) wires to a layer, with a 15 pin connector on each end. They for the cable, is still used today in old equipment, is adequate for the relatively low resolution of the original VGA standard. However, it quickly became clear, as the resolution is higher, a new cable design will need. The recognition that the most critical data that flows through the data cable are red, green and blue, super VGA cable (sometimes marketed as "XGA cable) is designed to minimize any intrusion from compromising the signal along the line. Instead of using only a pair of wires (one for the signal, one for ground) for each color channel – as has been traditional VGA cable – the new SVGA cable is designed with three small wires coaxial cable in the main. (Coaxial cable is a broad term that refers to any cable with a pin in the data center, surrounded by insulating material and one or more of the shields that provide foundation and fresh outside interference.) Well built cable SVGA cable is carried by the high resolution (up to 2048 x 1536) at distances up to 100 feet without external amplification.
When you buy the cable should always be careful to buy Cable Super VGA, VGA cable is not standard, unless you know fairly certain that only run a low-resolution devices. Even then, it is probably advisable to stick to the Super VGA cable to ensure that the cable you buy today will continue to work in the future.
