A look inside the antenna
Probably not something that many people are concerned unless you're some kind of electrical engineering or annoying, but understand how an antenna can be useful when your TV or the radio goes south on you and the reason is beyond comprehension.
Trying to explain how a simple antenna in English is not an easy task because there are many specifications techniques that need to be explained. However, general understanding is possible without going into Tech Talk Einstein would shrink.

Arriving at greater distances than a few wavelength antenna, which is called the antenna measurement field. This field is pure radiation. What happens eventually to all these areas is for television or radio receives signals through its antenna is as follows. The free movement electrons through the antenna is moved to the speed. The right half of the antenna collects electrons. The left half of your antenna is where the electrons and leave an excess of charged ions. Coulomb field produces imbalance and opposes the motion of electrons to the right. Electrons then stops, the coast a bit and then head to the left. After reaching the maximum speed and then stops the process is repeated, now heads to the right. The result is a vibration of free electrons and heats the metal to generate electromagnetic waves.
