Sapa – Trekking in Vietnam Wonders

The queen of the mountains of Vietnam, Sapa, overlooks a beautiful mountain valley, high-rise city of all sides. The spectacular landscape around Sapa includes cascading rice terraces that stretch down the mountain like a patchwork. Mountains are often shrouded in mist that rolls back and forth along the peaks, offering tantalizing visions of what is waiting on a clear day. The valleys and villages around Sapa are home to many hill tribe people who wander around the city purchase, sale and trade.

Sapa is also famous for its love market, which will take place on Saturday evening. The cultural highlight used to be the place of the local tribe to find a mate and marry.

Tradition says that young Red Dao tribes used to come to Sapa to sing songs to find their partners. The girls sang in the dark and hidden when a foundling – if they wanted – which disappeared in the woods for three days. Some of them got married after that.
