twisted pair cables and CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6 cable, and are an alternative Cat6a Low cost and easy installation of coaxial cables to transmit signals to traditional KVM and AV. KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) on the extensor CAT5 can be used to remove the computers from harsh or sensitive, or restrict physical access to the computer. Products video extension, as VGA, DVI, S-Video or HDTV via a CAT5 cable extension is used to extend the video screens. Each supplement consists of two units – the local unit and remote, which are interconnected by a cable CAT5/5e/6.
This article focuses on the method suitable for terminating a shielded cable or CAT6 twisted pair using tools and materials are readily available. With proper use tools and cables a little practice is over CAT6 at any time.
Cable Preparation
First, You need CAT6 cable (solid or stranded on the effects of this article) cut to length. The cable can be terminated before or after installation, even if you have a long term to do. The use of an analyzer Cable VPI ( www.vpi.us ) cable can easily test for continuity, crossed pairs and pin to ensure that all connections are properly made.
You will Then make sure you have the correct sockets for the cable end. Plugs are different for different types of cables, if you have cable connectors rigid or flexible, flat or round, shielded or not, and CAT5, 5e, 6 or 6a. Course use appropriate plug for the cable.
For tools you need one CAT5 cable stripper, wire cutters, crimping RJ45 and CAT5 cable tester.
Complete cable
Firstly, although strip the cable to expose "one of insulated wire and shield. Do not cut too deeply or you knick the insulation shield and son below. If you just score cable jacket and fold the wire in several directions to finish the rest, the result will a good cut, no problem.
Then the veil of isolation shield back in the cable jacket and sits in approximately ¼ "from the edge of the jacket. Wrap the ground wire that is at the bottom (block-side tab) of cable. Do not remove the conductor insulation.
Cut + Divisor way (basic insulation CAT6 cables some manufacturers, so that may or may not be present) that separates each twisted pair while the way to the edge of the jacket.
Then unravel the son all the way to the edge of the jacket (but not beyond) and sort them according to the TIA / EIA 568A and 568B.
For CAT6, RJ45 connector includes a load bar used to properly space for inserting wires into the RJ45 connector. Dock and insert the son in the rail. The load bar has openings in it, one for each driver. Cables should be placed in the correct order, or TIA / EIA 568A and 568B.
With the cables in the correct order, drag the load bar (with the lip facing up) until the end of the cable wherever possible. Then cut the excess son extending from the loading bar.
Insert the prepared cable into the connector RJ45 to ensure that the load bar is fully inserted and the cable sheath extends into the plug. The jacket and shield should extend at least ¼ Plug to relieve the body and good shield. Make sure the ground wire is placed in the bottom of the connector as this is where you can see more contacts with the shield of the RJ45.
Using the RJ45 crimping tool, crimp the end came together to make it permanent. Tighten the grips to establish contacts and ensure the socket. Once pressed, the termination must be firm and very difficult to remove.
Cable test
Use CAT5 cable tester to check your work. The tester indicates good continuity (connection complete end to end), make sure that couples have been matched correctly, and that the pin is consistent with the Standard cable selected. If the end is loose, to say that the tester is incorrect. Simply cut the end and try again.
Be sure to see more Articles on connecting CAT5 cables VPI available. Other cable types require slightly different procedures so that all details for the cable you want to end will be addressed in this article.
